Madonna's new W.E. keepsake features the birth stones of her kids.
The pop superstar asked jewellery bosses at Cartier is she could keep a bracelet featured in her directorial debut, but they were unwilling to part with the "work of art".
Instead, executives offered to design a stunning replica of a jewelled crucifix worn by socialite Wallis Simpson - the subject of Madonna's new period piece - as a thank you to the Material Girl for using their gems in the movie.
And during an interview on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America on Friday (27Jan12), Madonna explained the piece is extra special: "As a consolation prize they made this bracelet for me. And they asked me what stones I wanted it to be made of and I asked for the birthstones of all my children."
