"GLEE" COUNTDOWN: 4 DAYS
We’ve caught “Glee” fever over here on Show Tracker -- like we ever lost it. To celebrate the hit show coming back to finish its already successful freshman season, we wanted to offer a few gleeful nuggets to get fans ready for Tuesday.
One thing is for sure, the spring premiere of “Glee” is only a few days away. But one episode we know Gleeks have been highly anticipating is the all-Madonna episode.
The soundtrack for the episode is already available for pre-ordering on Amazon, and the tracklist offered some teasers for what’s to come, including the Justin Timberlake-assisted "4 Minutes," which is heard in the trailer clip on heavy rotation on Fox. There is also "What It Feels Like for a Girl," which scored the Material Girl a banned video.
A moment of the episode fans are certain to be looking forward to is “Vogue,” taken on by the meanest coach in town, Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch). Lynch is one of the last main characters who hasn't showcased her pipes. So how big of a challenge was it to get Lynch to take on Madonna?
“It wasn’t hard,” co-creator/executive producer Brad Falchuck said in a conference call with reporters. “No, we just gave her the script. It was in the Madonna episode, which is truly, I think, probably our most spectacular episode to date. It is truly a spectacular that you watch and you can’t believe you’re watching a television show.”
So how is Lynch’s vogue?
“When she saw it and saw what she’d be doing she was so excited. When you see her do this Vogue it is … awesome. It’s incredible. So it wasn’t hard,” Falchuck said. “She was being modest, I think, when she told you she would never sing.”
