They say you should never lie on your CV – a lesson Annabelle Wallis, star of The Tudors, learnt to her cost on the set of Madonna's new film W.E.
The striking actress, 25, who purports to speak four European languages among her skills, tells me at the Peroni Nastro Azzurro Accademia del Film wrap party in east London: "Madonna asked me to read in the foreign parts in rehearsals, before those parts had been cast.
"I was stumbling over every word and it soon became clear that I may have been exaggerating slightly when I wrote that I was fluent on my CV."
Wallis chuckles: "When you are being directed by your idol, it is not the best time to be caught out but she was actually really great about it."
W.E charts the life of Edward VIII's wife Wallis Simpson, who will be played by Andrea Riseborough, and will mark Madonna's feature-length directorial debut. Move over Guy Ritchie.

Madonna caught out an actress on the set of her new movie 'W.E.' who couldn't speak a foreign language despite claiming she knew four.
An actress in Madonna's new film 'W.E.' was caught lying on her CV.
British actress Annabelle Wallis - who plays a role in the movie about the relationship between King Edward VIII and his wife Wallis Simpson - claimed to be fluent in four languages, but was caught out on the set of the movie by Madonna, who is directing the project.
Annabelle told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "Madonna asked me to read in the foreign parts in rehearsals, before those parts had been cast.
"I was stumbling over every word and it soon became clear that I may have been exaggerating slightly when I wrote that I was fluent on my CV.
"When you are being directed by your idol, it is not the best time to be caught out but she was actually really great about it."
Trouble has previously been reported on the set of the film - which stars Abbie Cornish, James Fox and Richard Coyle - as Madonna takes too much time to record short scenes.
A source said the 52-year-old singer took three hours to shoot a 10 second bath scene because she continued to overanalyse small details.
