Madonna went on the offensive yesterday following reports that the Kabbalah Centre was being probed by authorities and a scathing Newsweek piece on her charity, Raising Malawi. Her rep, Liz Rosenberg, issued a statement: "In recent days a number of wild and totally false rumors about Madonna's philanthropy -- spread by bloggers and tabloids -- have begun appearing on the Internet. As we have said previously, Raising Malawi is currently undergoing a series of positive changes in an effort to serve more children. Neither Madonna nor Raising Malawi is being investigated by the FBI or the IRS." Kabbalah Centre lawyer Mathew Rosengart added, "It has not received any official notification of an investigation. If it does, it intends to cooperate fully." The Kabbalah Centre and Raising Malawi recently signed up high-flying spin doctors, including Trevor Neil son and Mark Fabiani. Fabiani is so high-flying that whenever Page Six tries to reach him, he's either on or about to board a plane.
