The PTA meetings may get a lot more interesting at one city school.
LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts is abuzz over word that Madonna's daughter, Lourdes Leon, may enroll next fall.
Madonna told US Weekly this month that Lourdes, 13, who already takes acting classes in Manhattan, was admitted to a "performing-arts high school" and would major in drama.
The Material Girl's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, would only confirm Lourdes is likely to attend a school in the city.
"They live here now," she said. "Madonna didn't tell me, and I know she's not going to tell."
Students at LaGuardia, which has become known as the "Fame" school, said they heard they might soon be in class with Madonna's daughter. And staff are giving coy responses when questioned.
"I've asked," said Luther Cherry, 16, a member of student government. "[School officials] said, 'We don't know until students show up.'"
But even before she may attend her first day of classes, Lourdes is a source of controversy.
Students said she had been given a private audition - and therefore shielded from the pressure of a public one, sparking concerns about preferential treatment.
"A lot of kids are talking about how she had an advantage," said Brittany Evans, 14, a freshman drama major. "LaGuardia is a great school. It really is, but I think that sometimes it wants to be more of a 'Fame' school."
City Education Department officials were completely mum on whether Lourdes might join the ranks of the city's 1.1 million public schoolkids, citing privacy.
LaGuardia officials also did not respond to requests for comment. Some students were ready to welcome Lourdes - and the possibility of her multimillionaire mom's largesse.
"I hope she comes in handy for when they come around for parent donations," said Karem Penalo, 16, a junior arts major.

Madonna’s daughter has enrolled in a prestigious New York stage school.
Lourdes – the singer’s 13-year-old child with fitness trainer Carlos Leon - currently takes acting classes in Manhattan, but is now said to have auditioned for LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts, which is dubbed the ‘Fame school’ due to its appearance in the movie ‘Fame’.
However, some students at the school are concerned the ‘4 Minutes’ singer’s daughter is getting preferential treatment by having a private audition, rather than the usual public one.
Brittany Evans, 14, told the New York Daily News newspaper: “A lot of kids are talking about how she had an advantage. LaGuardia is a great school. It really is, but I think that sometimes it wants to be more of a ‘Fame’ school.”
Madonna’s publicist Liz Rosenberg refused to confirm the rumours.
She said: “They live here now. Madonna didn’t tell me, and I know she’s not going to tell.”
Luther Cherry from the school’s student government also admits he is unaware if Lourdes is planning to attend or not.
He said: “I’ve asked. School officials said, ‘We don’t know until students show up.’
