Madonna cherche l'aide de la Reine pour le film sur Wallis Simpson.
London, Mar 14 : Madonna is seeking help from the Queen for a new film on Edward VIII abdication crisis.
The Queen of Pop is to write to the Queen to learn more about the 1936 crisis, in which Edward VIII's desire to marry Wallis Simpson, a twice-divorced American socialite, had caused a constitutional dilemma.
However, it was resolved by Edward's abdication and his succession by his brother, George VI, who was the Queen's father.
Edward later became the Duke of Windsor and married Simpson.
"Madonna is keen to make the film as authentic as possible and would be very grateful if we are allowed to film at certain locations," the Telegraph quoted one of Madonna's associates as saying.
The insider added: "She loves the UK and holds your Queen in the highest regard."
However, a courtier believes that Madonna may not be allowed to film in the Royal palaces.
The courtier said: "I can't imagine that Her Majesty would make an exception, particularly for a film about Wallis Simpson."
