Alex Rodriguez Turns to Vita Coco as His Hydration Drink of Choice
One of Baseball’s Biggest Names Signs on as the New Face of Vita Coco
June 08, 2011 08:05 AM Eastern Daylight Time
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Vita Coco, the nation’s best-selling coconut water and one of the fastest growing beverage brands in the U.S., announced that
Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod), a long time fan of the brand, will be featured in Vita Coco’s advertising campaign launching in New York this summer –
showcasing to consumers Vita Coco’s growing popularity as the hydrating drink of choice among athletes.
“The appeal of the Vita Coco brand continues to astound us,” says Michael Kirban, co-founder and CEO of
Vita Coco, “and we’re thrilled to have one of baseball’s greatest onboard. A-Rod has a unique connection to his fans and this campaign is
only going to strengthen consumers’ connection with the Vita Coco brand.”
Vita Coco, which is Never from Concentrate and contains the five essential electrolytes, 15 times the potassium of a traditional sports drink and 100 percent of the daily
requirement of vitamin C, delivers super-hydrating functionality with every sip. A-Rod prefers all-natural Vita Coco as an alternative to artificial sports
drinks – its super-hydrating effects help him perform at his best on and off the baseball field.
"My trainer suggested I try Vita Coco because of all the electrolytes and potassium, and now I drink it every day,” says
Alex Rodriguez. “The stuff really works."
As part of A-Rod’s partnership with the brand, the star athlete will appear in Vita Coco’s newest ad campaign launching this July in the New
York market. The campaign will activate through out-of-home, radio and digital platforms, and coincides with Rihanna’s national advertising
campaign for Vita Coco, also to be released this summer. Following Rihanna, A-Rod is the newest addition to the long list of
celebrity fans of Vita Coco, including Madonna, Matthew McConaughey and Demi Moore.
“Research has found that natural coconut water hydrates as effectively as the leading sports drink, with significantly lower sodium (30 mg/8.5
ounces vs. 110 mg/8 ounces), fewer calories, less sugar, and much more potassium,” said Dr. Douglas Kalman, Sports Nutritionist, Florida
International University and a Director in the Nutrition and Endocrinology Division at Miami Research Associates. “In a
sodium rich culture, Vita Coco is the healthier, all-natural choice to hydrate the sporting body”.

Alex Rodriguez Is Cuckoo For Coconut Water (And It's All Madonna's Fault)
Posted 16 hrs ago by Ellen Thompson
Never underestimate the power of Madonna.
While Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez hasn't dated the pop icon since, let's see...Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz...three years now, it looks
like she still has a hold on him. Well, when it comes to his preference in tropical beverages, at least.
It turns out A-Rod can't get enough of the stuff. So much so that the guy's found himself switch-hitting on endorsement deals. According to the Post, the
ballplayer has been an investor in Zico coconut water for more than two years, but came out yesterday endorsing its competitor Vita Coco. (Can't really blame
him: Coconut water is the crack of the juice world.)
"Since Zico changed their formula to concentrate, I felt that the taste and functionality was compromised and that's when I started to only drink
Vita Coco," Rodriguez said in a statement. "I love the taste and purity of Vita Coco."
Oh, and it just so happens Madonna is an investor in Vita Coco. So for all we know, she could've been switching out A-Rod's Zico with Vita Coco
the entire time they were dating. And before he knew it, he had developed that taste for the sweet, sweet nectar.

Coconut water brand Zico calls Alex Rodriguez nuts for appearing in ads for rival Vita Coco
A-Rod plays on both sides
Last Updated: 2:20 AM, June 9, 2011

Alex Rodriguez looked like a nut yesterday after backing two rival coconut water brands. "My trainer suggested I try Vita Coco because of all the electrolytes and potassium," said A-Rod in a statement announcing he'll appear in ads for Vita Coco. "Now I drink it every day." But A-Rod has been an investor in Vita Coco's competitor, Zico, for more than two years, according to Zico CEO Mark Rampolla. He only learned that A-Rod had struck a deal to promote his rival when a Vita Coco press release went out yesterday. "I was definitely surprised," said Rampolla. He wouldn't disclose the size of Rodriguez's investment, except to say, "At his level, it's not a make-or-break [amount], but most people would love to be able to make an investment like that." A-Rod's manager, Guy Oseary, and his ex, Madonna, are both investors in Vita Coco. Rampolla said he would be "happy to give A-Rod his money back." But one source familiar with A-Rod's move said, "It's like betting against your own team." Oseary didn't get back to us. A-Rod's rep declined to comment.

Madonna, Rihanna Team Up for Coconut Water Campaign
by Keith Caulfield, L.A. | May 11, 2011 1:30 EDT
Madonna and Rihanna are the latest superstar divas to team up for a new project -- but instead of working together on a new single or remix, the pair has joined forces to sell
coconut water.
The Vita Coco brand of coconut water, of which Madonna is an investor, will feature the Barbados-born Rihanna in its national
advertising campaign launching this summer.
"Rihanna is a natural fit for the Vita Coco brand and I'm so happy to have her on the team," says Madonna in a statement.
Rihanna adds, "I love Vita Coco! It's real coconut water from hand-picked coconuts. It's delicious and so good for
you!"
Rihanna recently paired with another pop star, Britney Spears, for the remix to her hit single "S&M," while the music video to
"California King Bed" premiered on Monday (May 9). Meanwhile, Madonna is completing work on the feature-length film
"W.E.," which she directed, due out later this year.

Madonna n'est plus l'égérie de D&G.
Published: Nov. 13, 2010 at 1:14 PM
NEW YORK, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has dropped Madonna as a model for its spring 2011 campaign in
favor of Victoria's Secret models.
The Michigan-born pop star had fronted the Italian brand's sexy campaigns for two seasons.
Victoria's Secret models Izabel Goulart, Alessandra Ambrosio, Maryna Linchuk and Isabeli Fontana shot the spring 2011
ad campaign with photographer Steven Klein on Thursday, New York magazine reported. Three of them had walked the Victoria's
Secret runway just the night before.
D&G's spring/summer 2010 campaign featured black and white images of Madonna playing a fantasy housewife -- making dinner, eating pasta and rinsing plates
while wearing glamorous dresses. The photos reportedly were inspired by Italian neo-realist films.
"To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true," designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana told
Vanity Fair's Italian edition in December 2009.

Britney Spears concèdent, volontiers, y faire appel.
moufles."

Comment photoshop a donné à Madonna un teint immaculé.
By Jonathon Moran / The Sunday Telegraph / October 03, 2010 12:00AM
- Untouched Madonna ad shots leaked
- Skin looks blotchy, veins are protruding
- Experts say photoshop job took two days
THE camera might not lie but photoshop certainly can.
Squeezing into a low-cut black bodysuit and posing as a sexy housewife, Madonna is one hot mama, rolling back some of her 52 years. But her flawless skin and buxom chest is an
illusion, with untouched photos from her new campaign for Dolce & Gabbana, revealing her true age.
The "before" shot, leaked on the internet, shows the Material Girl appearing blotchy and tired, with veins protruding from her lower arms and biceps.
It also been claimed that she wore sunglasses for some photos to hide the telltale signs of ageing.
Photoshop experts say it would have taken two days to smooth her skin and remove every blemish.
Madonna appears to have been plumped up in the new black-and-white images, adding weight to her petite and muscular frame.
In other shots from the Dolce & Gabbana campaign, Madonna is seen scrubbing the floor on all fours and crawling around on a bed. She also wears a large
diamond crucifix -- in an echo of her 1980s video Like A Prayer.
Louis Vuitton also used computer trickery on Madonna in a campaign earlier this year.

Madonna once again proves that girls just wanna have fun and at 52-years-old the Material Girl wasn’t ashamed to show her assets in a provocative new ad campaign
for fashion powerhouse Dolce & Gabbana.
The photos feature Madonna scantily clad while scrubbing the floor and crouched on the bed showing some serious cleavage.
Interestingly, Madonna’s infamous red-string Kabbalah bracelet made the final cut in the photos.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, a fan obsessed with Madonna was arrested for the second time in four days after squatting outside her New York
apartment with creepy signs professing his love for her.

La déesse domestique Madonna nettoie le sol pour Dolce & Gabbana.

Madonna as Domestic Goddess?
We're gonna go out on a limb and suggest that this is probably the first time in her life that Madonna has gotten down on all fours -- in full hair and makup, wearing sexy black
lingerie -- to scrub floors.
But since this is a behind-the-scenes teaser for her new international Dolce & Gabbana advertising campaign, we know she's earning way more than minimum wage for this elbow
grease workout.
Does she do windows too? Perhaps for the right price.
Somehow the subservient position isn't the most flattering to Madge.
Is this sexy, sexist or just plain stupid? We can't decide. You?

An accordion for a family traditional waltz, clap your hands and toast to La Donna who cheerfully responds with a bright smile to the “Cheese” request.
Madonna dressed up like a perfect Sicilian donna goes to a traditional food market to buy and give lessons to sellers: “ Your chickens are escaping from the back of the cage!”. On her way home, she stops at the tailor for a last fitting and some alterations to check.
Home sweet home, but the job is not completed, baby just ate and needs to play and the floor to be washed. What a day, what a laugh, what a look!
A family story, that tells a lot on daily life but the lesson is definitely to be happy, a smile makes the outfit. Happy times, baby!
